For travel within Mountain View itself and the neighboring area, The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (http://www.vta.org/) VTA operates bus and light rail service. The Caltrain (http://www.caltrain.org/), which runs all the way from San Francisco to Gilroy stops in Mountain View as well. Caltrain also provides relatively easy access to both San Francisco and San Jose Airport.
